(This note also serves as an invitation to Sirius and anyone else who might want to join us, and a heads up to Lisa that she might want to be on her toes and have a whiskey waiting at 9 tonight. (Just kidding about the drink, Lisa, I know better).).

What the HELL is this? I accio'd a cup of the juice from the kitchen after grabbing my dinner and NOTHING HAPPENED. I swear, this place is doing terrible things to us! Remus and Sirius are grouchy old men, Lily is frightened (LILY OF ALL PEOPLE! I never though I'd ever see her scared of anything, let alone memories) , my son (who I don't even remember making because I never got that far in my life) is older than me - a grown man! - and I don't even know how to approach him, what he knows, who he is! Why the HELL can't they put us back through the damned Portal when we show up? I'm sure Kinglsey explained that at some point the night I... "arrived" but I was too busy thinking the whole thing was a joke. You know? I was right. This whole thing is a DAMNED JOKE and I feel... done. I feel powerless. It's not in my nature. My father would laugh at me right now and my mother would tell me to try a little harder and it'll call come easily to me. We're Potters after all, right? Between my mum and my dad, who've been dead for over twenty years, by the way... Yes. I just feel done.

Even though it had only been a few days - 5 tops, since Lily had seen James, it felt like a decade had past. She couldn't understand why it always felt like that either. She put her hair up in a ponytail and checked her appearance - jeans and a solid long sleeve shirt. She hoped James didn't mind her dressing down for the evening.

She grabbed her little overnight purse and apparated to his home, knocking on his door, feeling a little antsy.

Turns out Padfoot was a bit sore after the last moon. Says it's been too long since he ran around like that, I think we need to give him a bit of practice. Next Full, of course, but until then, any ideas how we can totally use this against him? We absolutely have to.

Lily hadn't heard from James in the past few days, mainly do to schedule conflicts. The sporadic quick message on datapad was all since their fun-filled break earlier in the week. She had never been more grateful for a monsoon. When she got James' message she was a little giddy and had asked him over.

Now she was fretting. Should she change? She was wearing black shorts and a black tank top - it was evening in her own home after all. She decided that what she was wearing was fine; it's not like she asked him over for an elegant meal.

He had replied saying he'd be over in 15 minutes, but she knew his 15 minutes could be 5 minutes or 30, depending on what he had to accomplish. This gave Lily a few minutes to hurriedly brush her teeth and perhaps find something to snack on for them in the kitchen.

I hear the World's End does brunch. Can we meet tomorrow? It's been too long since all three of us have been in a room together - though in 1978 I'd only just seen both of you a week before being pulled, I think - and I'd love to see you. If not brunch, soon, I'll even leave the Media Center in less capable hands if need be.

Shacklebolt's Folly has a menu that actually includes things other than stew and fish and chips, not like the World's End. I'd love to take you out and show you off, if you'd be willing to have a prat like me on your arm. Name the night and I'm yours.
