When it came to the best man, she had no doubt that Ginny wouldn’t be in good hands, nor that she would find herself with a lack of attention or chivalry. She looked at her, truly grateful to have gotten to know her like she had and to truthfully be able to call her her best friend. “Have fun and enjoy today. Flirt and dance and eat and drink and sing and just celebrate this with us. That’s why we’re doing it this way.” She sent her a smile and with a small sigh, she got up. “I’m ready for them to do my hair,” she confirmed. “And I’m ready for some breakfast. I’m starving.” Holding out her hand to Ginny, she gestured for her come along, now.

She squeezed Ali's hand back and rose, smoothing her light gold simple gown with her free hand, very conscious of the fact that she was wearing Viktor's wedding band on her thumb. It was a great honor to be here with Alicia, to share her wonderful day with her and to witness her happiness. "Well, then you'll be in for a treat. I think they've got every decadent pastry known to man out there."
She took Ali's outstretched hand and the two crossed out into the louder, more boisterous living area. While Ali sat for the Babas, Ginny went to fetch two laden plates of pastries, bringing them back to Alicia. "I got one of each for you to try and Tashi? Tali? Something like that, she's going to bring over some tea in a minute," she assured Alicia, handing her the plate. "I'd ask if you were nervous but that's sort of a moot point now. Your brother is having the time of his life over there with the other musicians, I see. How's your mum taking all of this?"

How she had gone from the grieving widow to a woman who was beginning to look at life with a fresh pair of eyes, once again recognising all the opportunities that were there for the taking. “Now that she’s gotten to know Viktor as more than just the name my dad kept raving about she’s come around, and though she’s both sentimental and proud today, I think she’ll agree that this was how we should do it.”
