The stupid thing that seemed to run the Hatter's life these days - he didn't even recall telling it to do so - buzzed that he was expected at a place called Prehistoric Perk for dinner. For dinner he dressed in his finest clothes - which were odd robes of purple - and his usual hat, and made his way to the labeled restaurant. Oh! It was a nice restaurant! Who was he meeting? Perhaps March Hare had finally come around and wanted to surprise him with a party? Or was it a trick? The Red Queen's people were very tricky indeed, but there was no way to know for sure without entering, so he did.
He was waved over by a haughty woman who looked a lot like him, though she was rather put off by his disheveled look and his large hat, she still greeted him with recognition and said, "Hatter, do sit here next to Sera, and help he keep the baby company, will you?" He looked to the one named Sera and smiled at the swaddle in her arms. "I quite like babies!" He exclaimed, sitting down with enthusiasm, waking the little girl. She began to wail. The gentleman sitting next to Sera - Will, Hatter knew, somehow - took the darling and soothed it.
Oh yes, this was definitely a plot by the Red Queen, it had to be.
"Well then, shall we have tea? Perhaps with something stronger in it?" Sera nodded in agreement and with a detached, regal air beckoned the waiter. The man at the head of the table, Ryan, looked to Hatter's hands with curiosity. "Not playing in that damned garden are you again? With those ridiculous friends of yours?" Looking at the dirt that hadn't scrubbed off on his fingers, Hatter smiled. "Not with my ridiculous friends, sir, but with a lady you may know..." He dragged it out and then added, "The Evil Queen?" to test their response.
There wasn't much of one. The head woman, who had first greeted him, yawned, "Oh yes, everyone knows the Evil Queen, darling," and Will rolled his eyes as if Hatter had told him it was hot out and thought the news was new.
Just then, the waiter returned and Hatter ordered tea - with whiskey - for the entire table, except the baby, whom he ordered an earl gray for.
Looking about the room, he noticed Sleeping Beauty enter and, grateful to see a familiar face and a friend of Alice and Wendy's, he smiled broadly at her to join them.

Hatter comforting his hat had an air of familiarity to it and the panic that she felt upon thinking that Maleficent could be here subsided just a bit. "It's quite good," she said in answer to his unspoken question after taking a sip.
