The hour had arrived at last; it was time to meet new friends and revisit old friends. Lily had looked forward to this all day and it was finally here. She had re-arranged her living room to allow for more people to gather as well as an area for food. Already on the table was the cake she had made - a large sheet cake with vanilla frosting and chocolate cake, as well as various dip recipes she had experimented with (she only kept the decent ones), and chips. She still had other goodies cooking including sausage.

Now she waited for her guests.

"And I couldn't do what you do," Lily said with a laugh. "It's fine really. For me, it is starting over, and maybe the same mistakes won't get made again. That was a bit of a nightmare." She said with a bit of a scowl on her face.

"James just has a lot to digest right now. And I respect that. Do I like hanging out with him? Sure. He's a fun person. But he can also choose a different path if he likes." She wasn't too sure she'd like that, but it was his life after all.

While she did accept the apology, she felt it wasn't really needed. "I'd rather people ask than make their own assumptions. The last thing needed in a small world as this - despite their being several hundred thousand - is rumors flying around."
