With Alicia taking the overnight shift at the medical center to help a co-worker, Viktor rose early and did his run with enough time to take a quick shower and change into jeans and a t-shirt. He paused after stepping out of his front door, tapping out a quick message to Alicia before heading over to the settlement pub. There was talk that they were building two more pubs and nightclubs already and, on Charlie's suggestion, he had spoken to Zograf's and Levski's баба about managing one of the pubs with Bulgarian fares.

It was a pleasant morning and Viktor arrived in the market center to find it crowded with people stocking up for their day. He made his way over to the pub and chose a table on the deck, ordering a pot of local coffee and another of tea for two along with some toasted bread. There were a few others on the deck as well, enjoying the sunny day and good weather, though Viktor was glad for the overhanging above the deck as he would not want Fleur made uncomfortable by a sudden downpour. He checked his datapad and saw that he still had a minute or two before their agreed-upon meeting time so he settled back in his chair.

She had made sure to leave early. Though she had been there for several days now, Fleur still found it a bit hard to naviagate her way around the settlement. It wasn't usually a big deal because she wasn't typically in a hurry but she did like to at least be on time.

"Viktor!" Fleur gave him a warm smile as she walked up to where he was seated. It had been a while since they had seen each other but he looked the same; he looked good. Viktor looked just like she remembered him.

"How are you?" Fleur asked him with yet another smile.

Fleur sat down with a smile. It was good to see her friend again. "I am happy to see you too Viktor," she was glad to see that he was well. "I always intended to come it was just things needed to be settled at home first and Bill wanted to come with his family." It had been a hard decision but it had been necessary on many fronts. "They did come with me. My sister and parents live not too far from me."

"How about you Viktor, did your family come with you?" She couldn't imagine him coming without them.

Fleur nodded recognizing his offer, if she did she surely would let him know, as she reached for the honey. The longer she spent around tea drinkers the more the drink was growing on her, long as it was hot. Iced tea just tasted different. It wasn't as good for some reason.

"I'm sorry Viktor." Fleur wasn't sure that was the right thing to say but she didn't know what else to say. It saddened her that she didn't hear about it but she hadn't heard about a lot of things. She had spent a lot of time helping Bill deal with the loss of his brother. "I am glad you have family here though. It helps." She couldn't imagine being without her's.

"What do you do here?"

Fleur was happy for the change of topics to a lighter, easier one. What they were doing there. It wasn't like she was unfamiliar with the loss of family, she was, but there came a point to where it was best to acknowledge it and move on if they could. She doubted anyone wanted their love ones to do any less.

"Animals?" She wasn't sure why but it wasn't what she pictured him doing or maybe it was just because they didn't get to talk about that part of their lives much during the tournament. "Sounds like we have similar jobs I just work with plants instead of animals. Feels like I will be learning forever the names of the new ones."

"I am glad to hear you are still playing though. I would like to come and watch you play sometime." There was no chance she would ever learn to play or what to learn. Fleur still hated flying despite Bill's many attempts to help her conquer her fear.

"Da. Charlie Veasley, he ask me help vith Ark, vith dragon," Viktor agreed. His family legends of dragon guardians had instilled a knowledge of dragons that rivaled what was taught to Keepers so Viktor had welcomed the offer of working with them and the other magical creatures. "I vork vith Crup und Kneazle now, vith new litters."

He chuckled warmly, nodding. "All new here. Much to learn, much to explore. You haff much vork ahead of you."

"Ve play every Saturday, at pitch ground near lake. You most velcome. Vhen more team, dey come, ve vill haff more team for play," Viktor encouraged her happily, pausing to take a drink of his coffee. "How you find home? You enjoy new home vith Bill?"
