Date: November 23, 2001, afternoon
Characters: Adrian Pucey, Ginny Weasley
Setting: Settlement 1, pub & then the air
Content: G
Status: Public: Open
Adrian could hardly contain himself as he waited for Ginny to join him at the pub. He had awoken late last night to a knock on his duplex's door, and figuring it was something to do with business he'd quickly thrown on shorts and a t-shirt before answering the front door. And there they stood. His parents, looking annoyed and normal, and his sister looking very tired and incredibly pregnant and Will, beaming at him like they'd all just won the lottery. And really, they had.
The hugs and catching up and chattering late into the night was out of character for all of them, but they had done it anyway and so he now sat at the pub with a strong cup of tea in front of him, waiting for his new friend to join him for lunch and a social flight while family was dealing with moving into their duplex just down the street from him (his parents on one side, his sister, Will, and the eventual baby on the other) and learning the ropes from their datapads and Ministry employees.
Hardly able to stay in his seat he sipped his tea and bit his bottom lip, sure that his eyes were sparkling like some ridiculous cartoon puppy with a new toy.

Date: 2012-11-24 09:25 am (UTC)It was a short apparation to get near the pub so Ginny appeared on the path a few feet from the new establishment with a few minutes to spare to meet up with Adrian. Dashing up the stairs, she could see he wasn't on the deck so she stepped inside, a quick glance around finding him at a table off to the side and she flashed a big smile as she came up to where he was sitting. "I hope I didn't keep you waiting long," she apologized, realizing she'd probably spent too long in the shower.

When it seemed they were settled in he looked at her again and announced, "They came through last night," and yet the news sink in.

"They... your family?! Oh, sweet Merlin, Adrian, that's amazing news!" Ginny declared, getting up from her chair immediately to circle around and give him another hug.

Date: 2012-11-26 10:13 pm (UTC)Kissing her on the cheek in his glee, Adrian sat back a little bit, "Sorry," and bit his bottom lip. "I just, I still can't believe it!" He announced, changing the subject in his mind, "They said even their homes on the Island got too cold and they couldn't believe they had refused to come with me from some sort of pride earlier. Sera's ready to pop any day now, too, she's freaking out that she might be the first birth in the colony." He laughed loudly.

Date: 2012-11-27 08:20 am (UTC)She felt her cheeks warm but she gestured dismissively as she returned to her seat opposite. "Nothing to be sorry for, silly," Gin added, not putting anything behind it given his euphoria over his family joining him. "They shouldn't feel badly about it. I hear lots of stories like yours at the Med Center. The Muggle governments are telling people that its just a temporary change."
"She'll be in a race then - there's a witch who is expecting any day now. Please have her come into the Med Center for a check-up so they can start tracking her in case of an emergency," she pointed out as the bar server came over. Ginny ordered a pot of tea to share and a small plate of chips.

"So, lunch? Before our flight? My treat." He beamed at her.

Date: 2012-11-28 12:30 am (UTC)She noticed the drop in his expression as she had been taking her seat but Ginny didn't know what to make of that. The hug and his light kiss had been friendly but not out of the ordinary for her. Nothing she would consider as being forward or a pass.
"Just the chips for me," she answered with a quick smile. "You couldn't have gotten much sleep last night. Are you sure you're up for flying?"

Date: 2012-12-09 09:31 am (UTC)It wasn't long until their lunches were delivered and the barmaid made sure they knew the deck was open even in the evening. "Hm, evening on the deck, stars, warm air..." Adrian looked around and smiled, "Maybe after our flight we'll want to come back," he said cheekily.

Date: 2012-12-11 08:40 am (UTC)The food smelled great and Ginny felt her cheeks darken with a blush when the barmaid clearly thought they were together but she didn't correct her. "That'd be nice," she agreed with a smile, digging into her food. "If you aren't ready to pass out by then. That second wind you're on won't last all night."
