[Private to Ginny Weasley] -- So, let's talk book club. Maybe we can set up a monthly meeting at the pub? Luckily I've got run of the place, so no need to ask permission. My place is the backroom of World's End, so want to meet at Shacklebolt's for tea tomorrow evening? Let me know when you're free, I can leave Paul in charge of the front room whenever. -- Lisa

[Public] -- Any interest in social nights at the Pub? Karaoke, speed dating, muggle movie nights? If you'd like to have one or would like to invite any groups here in the Settlement to meet here, we'd love to have more than drinking and dining, be a real community hot spot! -- Lisa

The holidays are always over in a rush of activity and excitement and by the week after New Years I want to just relax. Admittedly that is what I have been doing outside work. There is so much work to be done though. I think I am finally starting to get an idea and a memory of which plants are which.

That being said, anyone up for coffee? A break would still be welcome.

[Private to Kingsley Shacklebolt]

Kingsley,
Or should I address you more formally these days? I wasn't sure who else to write about this, so I thought reaching out to you might be my best bet, though I apologize if this is below you or any inconvenience. Anyway, I wanted to offer my services to the
Prehistoric Prophet, if there's anything you all need in the way of legal advice, press releases concerning the Security patrols, or anything else, just let me know.

In the meantime, I'd love to catch up, it's been too long since you were in the Auror Office with us. Let me know if you've any free time, I'm sure I can always switch shifts with someone if my schedule clashes.
Best,
Demp

Happy New Year! Seems a bit odd to be saying that when it's over 25 bloody degrees outside, but there you have it. It's 2002. And how did I celebrate? I stayed in! Believe it or not! With all the new restaurants and clubs opening, I actually took a night off; Paul, the cook at the Pub, said he didn't mind running things for the night, seeing as it was going to be quiet anyway, and seeing as I run his lunch shifts without complaint, being the boss and all. And so I headed home as soon as we'd sent the last of the fixings off to Shacklebolt's for the night!

I took a long, cool shower (can't imagine anything else here), made myself some tea (my 'secret stash' from London, I've only got a little bit left from before I came over, but it's still delicious), and sat with a good romance novel all night long. I think I may have even been asleep before the big countdown. Mum & Dad even let me off the hook for the night, sending me just a short hello via datapad. How lucky am I?

So, this book I'm reading, I found it here in the datapad's general library. The lucky girl finds out shes a witch (imagine her surprise!) and then spends the whole series leading a magical army and trying to decide between the roguish but passionate warlock and the seemingly too good to be true vampire. Can you imagine? I wish! A warlock, a vampire, romance! Obviously, we could all do without war and battles and magical duels, we've had our share of that and then some, but to be swept off my feet by a handsome hero? Whoever was handing that out skimped on me, that's for sure.
