Date: 20 January 2002, Sunday morning
Characters: Adrian, Maia Pucey and Sera Connelly
Setting: The new TV Depot, Settlement 1
Content: Gen
Status: Public : Closed
Adrian kept a smile on his face while his mother and sister chatted on endlessly. Both women were ecstatic to receive the datapad announcement that televisions were now available in Settlement One. Of course, they had both had tvs in St. Thomas (Adrian hadn't ever bothered with one in his nearly-empty London flat) and it seemed they had missed them. Both women had dragged their husbands and nearly two month old Dagny to the movie showing at the Pub the week before, but it wasn't the same, they insisted.
And so it was early on a Sunday morning when the girls had shown up at Adrian's door to make him escort them to the TV depot that had been set up. Bill and Ryan had opted to stay and watch Dagny at the duplex the family shared and Adrian was left shopping with the ladies.
The volunteers were helpful and taught the trio how to set up their new purchases (Adrian said a silent prayer of thanks that his father was making potions for the hospital and Bill was working with the muggles on magical living so he didn't need to buy all three sets for the Puceys). The girls wouldn't stop talking about their favorite programs, wondering with longing whether they were still showing back in 'the real world'. Adrian didn't like to think of the 'real world' - he knew things must be getting back there, and when his family had come through the portal safely, he had shut off that part of his heart. London was no more, as far as he was concerned, and that was alright, he supposed. The things he cared about were all here now, and that was all he could worry about.
Floating the tvs back to the duplex, he and Bill set both of the family contraptions up and with hugs and promises to catch up properly over dinner soon, Adrian took his and levitated it down the streets to his own home, setting it down on the furnished table across from the couch in his living area. Hoping not to wake his neighbor in case of a Sunday morning lie in, he opted to put it all together as quietly as possible and then make himself some brunch, promptly ignoring his newest home addition.
This is what Sundays were for, he was sure - short but useful family time, brunch, and then maybe a nap before doing some evening herb hunting. Yes, a Sunday done right if you asked him.
