After a long day at the Command Center, Sirius was more than content enough to return to his home though it was only one path over from the Command Center, next door to Kingsley. Six days on the other continent had made him feel odd in the home that was his very own here in the past. Sirius was used to living in a tent, sleeping on the beach, and bathing in the ocean. His ability to apparate long distances had found him on the other side of that continent for most of this trip. With the exception of land predators, it was nearly identical to the Zealand land mass but for a few minor differences which made it somewhat less than perfect for Kingsley's plans of expansion. Predators were not something they had to worry about on Zealand.

He took a shower, then dressed in jeans and a dark blue t-shirt, before heading down the stairs to the first floor where he fixed himself a glass of whiskey. Sirius briefly contemplated going to the pub for dinner but he knew that it was likely to be crowded so that was right out of the question. Knowing that Kingsley was still at the Command Center, he gave up on the idea of cooking all together and took his drink out onto the back terrace which overlooked another path, dropping into one of the two chairs there. The sun was just beginning to set and his attention was drawn once more to the sky above, the stars so bright and unfamiliar. Hermione had told him that they were the same stars but something about Earth's rotation over the eons had changed or shifted somehow so they looked different.

Of course, he couldn't make heads or tails of the constellations anyway but he enjoyed her company nonetheless. Next to that woman at the market, Sirius had limited exposure to the other inhabitants of the Settlement. Kingsley, Hermione and Charlie Weasley were the only real constants in his life, given the amount of time he spent away from the settlement and the island itself. Briefly, he considered messaging Hermione to see if she would be up for a game of chess but then he remembered the young witch was seeing to the Portal group coming through that evening. He'd attended one of those. One was all it took for Sirius to avoid that like the plague. His datapad beeped from inside and Sirius summoned it, tapping quickly through the applications to bring up the backlog of messages, some of which were coming from the open Portal.
