Settlement News

Settlement Command is happy to announce the grand opening of each settlements' pubs this Saturday at 6 p.m. On Settlement One, The World's End, will have a free pint. On Settlement Two, The Lion and Unicorn, is having a darts contest. On Settlement Three, The Dragon's Tail, will be having a recipe exchange. Plans are already in motion for more pubs to be added to each settlement over the next three months.

Our farms are reporting record crop successes for the six month mark, including the coffee shrubs although we must reiterate that there is no expectation for old world coffee beans here for another three years. If you brought coffee with you, please continue to ration your supplies as we are seeing a decrease of coffee coming through the portal.

Amateur Quidditch players are asked to remember that the use of Bludgers is strictly forbidden within Settlement wards. The Security team has been working to set up a proper Quidditch pitch but in the meantime, players are asked to keep clear of the farms as well. Scaring the livestock is highly frowned upon.

In addition to a Quidditch pitch, Settlement Two has cleared ground for soccer/rugby playing and equipment can be signed out for use at the Medical Center. It is advised to request that a Healer or doctor be on call while you play.

The joint Headmasters would like parents to be aware that all students will be receiving swimming lessons starting next Monday. Lessons are open to all interested individuals regardless of age. Parents of students unable to partake in swimming lessons are asked to message their respective Headmaster as soon as possible so alternate playtime can be arranged.

Ark News

Ark Operations are going well and settlers are reminded that dragon flight over settlements is simply the animal's returning to their nests with nothing to be concerned about.

Tours remain open to the public during the hours of 6:00 to 8:00 am and 4:00 to 6:00 pm daily. Weekend tours are, however, restricted to the hours of 8:00 to 11:00 am.

Due to the prolific success of our Kneazle breeding operations, the Ark is very happy to announce that magical homes are being sought for three Kneazle kittens. Please contact the reception desk at Ark Operations if you are interested in being matched to a kitten. Children cannot request matching without a parent's accompaniment.

News through the Portal

We continue to welcome new arrivals twice a week in the Portal clearing. If you would like to volunteer to drive and acclimate new arrivals, please message your Settlement Command Center for more information.

News from the future is, frankly, grim. Record levels of snow are engulfing England, Scotland and Ireland. Everything North of the Equator is dealing with constant -60 degree temperatures, snow, and ice. South of the Equator is reporting -40 degree temperatures and snow. Communications through the Portal continue to be constant but the Ministry has stated that they do not know how long that will remain the case.

Settlers are reminded that their families can be contacted by the Ministry for immigration through the Portal. For more information, please see the Portal Shepherd desk in the Command Center.

As always, datapads will automatically send messages through the Portal whenever it opens. You do not have to resend - check your messages tab for confirmation of receipt if there is any concern. Assistance with datapad training remains localized at your individual Settlement Command Center.
